I met Ali first at a Write! Canada conference and then at gala awards night. This  talented singer, songwriter has become one of my favourite musical artists and I’ve gotten to know her a little better each time I see her. Most recently, in Stratford, Ontario, at their home.

In July, my husband, my parents and I were delighted to attend a house concert and supper hosted by Ali and her husband John. We were treated to a delicious supper, with barbecuing by John, and salads and desserts by Ali and friends, then the concert in the Matthew’s living room. Ali began with several songs and playing her guitar, then was joined by band members, Charlene Nafziger at piano, and Rick Francis on guitar.

Each time I meet Ali, I appreciate her humility and talent and now I add kind hostess to the list. I remain… her fan.
