Black History Month Celebration
February is Black History month. Members of the former Maranatha congregation have joined Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Waterloo. That church hosted the celebration this year.
Maranatha Lutheran, a small Lutheran Caribbean mission congregation, once shared our building so I know quite a few of the people who usually attend.
The service featured lively song and added music posted on the church screens. We were invited to use musical instruments to accompany the singing.
Dinner was typical Carribean fare served by our regional and ELCIC leaders and prepared by many hands.
I took quite a few photos and am temporarily unable to post them. Hope to get this remedied soon. However, it was a wonderful event with good food, lively music, entertaining speakers and good company. I was glad to have attended this year.
