I am Canadian — No Comments

  1. Oh, Canada; I love racing the Bay of Fundy tides as they come back to claim all in their path. I love the seagulls riding thermal waves of air up and over the cliffs. I love the smell of pine trees and salt air with a touch of the scent – freshly plowed potato field. I love the mournful warning of the fog horn on Cape D’or beeeeee- ummmmmm .I love the names of my Grandmother’s heritage where her family put down roots, Port Greville, Advocate, Apple RIver, Spicer’s Cove, Spencer’s Island, Isle a Haut, Refugee and Cape Chignecto, all her homeland in Nova Scotia. I am an American with Canadian roots showing. I’ve been away 20+ years hoping 2012 brings me back to my roots for a visit. I was lucky to visit many summers in my youth. I don’t know my Grandfather’s land just a name but no connection or longing,a distant foreign thought his La’ Acadie in Quebec, but maybe someday it too will share it’s roots.

    • An east coast person, by heritage, I see. I love going to Nova Scotia, the shoreline, the water. Enjoyed Cape Breton too.
      Thanks for stopping by.
