A Nova Scotia Holiday
It had been years since our last trip to Nova Scotia. My husband and I had been there three times to visit friends, see east coast highlights, including PEI and Cape Breton.
This time, solo, I was going to Nova Scotia to visit friends in Bridgewater and Lunenburg.
It had been an early morning, getting up at 5 am, to leave at 6 am. Daughter Laura had taken me to the airport with tea and a croissant in hand.

Flying Porter Airlines from Hamilton, Ontario, to Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Ascending above the clouds for a smooth flight to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Reading a good book helped the two hours and twenty -five minutes go pretty fast. I had a small one behind me on the flight who must have been just three. He asked a lot of questions of his Mom, but he fared well on the flight. A little restless as we waited for a gate, but on the whole he did very well.
Down a long hallway, I finally made it to the baggage area. My friends, my hosts Maryann and John, were there to meet me. We waited for my suitcase to come. Mary, a woman I talked with at Hamilton, needed a little help getting her suitcase off the carousel. It was something I could do. John picked up mine and we were off.
The McIntoshes took me for breakfast at a nearby Tim Hortons. I was pretty hungry by this time, having had only a small snack on board the flight. We drove the highway to Bridgewater where they live, seeing the large rocks on the roadside, preparing to build a double laned highway. Once we arrived, I was glad to set my suitcase aside and relax awhile. Even a nap. Jenn and Josef joined us for supper and so we visited that evening and I was ready for an early night.
